Hey Pres!
I have a 69 164 that came with 4-speed and 3.31, which was a good gear.
I installed the M410 about 20 years ago.
Although the car is not currently operational I'll have to say that the OD
is better for constant speed cruising than anything else. With the IPD street
perf cam (an OLD one!, 7002) it has to be going about 75 to get good acceleration in OD. Gotta kick out of OD for rapid passing.
This is a carbureted (HIF6) engine, btw.
