Lucast:

Your photos are super! As a fellow BB 240 enthusiast I recall driving a rental MG along the Indian Ocean north of Perth. ?that was in 1974! I have been back to Australia many times since and have made the drive from Brisbane to Melbourne in both directions. The beauty of the ocean at the "Gold Coast" or spectacular views of the mountains at Threadbow, does not match the area around Perth.

The Swan Lager is the real "gold" of AUS!

The next trip you have to take is up to Port Headland, but watch out for red iron ore dust on the white 245!

Happy 2009 and thanks for letting us view your slice of the good life!

Beautiful pictures!

Looks like they could be continders for the 2010 IPD catalogue...

The picture on the side of the roadway reminds me of when I used to travel in West Texas, except that it isn't quite that green out there.

Thanks for sharing with us.

If it needs to be maintained, repaired or replaced on a 1990 240, I've probably done it. '90 240DL, 255K looking forward to 300K badge (or sticker??). >>You haven't really worked on a car until you draw blood<< :-}

Beautiful, man. Not a power line, fence, or sign in sight. I just added the Nullarbor Plain to my list of places to see before I buy the farm. ;-)

Thanks!

Hi Shannon

The plain is quite plain to be honest. The Great Australian Bight is about the only interesting thing to look at.

The pics where you see the lovely cove in the distance as well as the kangaroo on the beach were taken in Cape Le Grand National Park, Esperance, Western Australia which is a sensational place to take a holiday.

Hell, the coast of WA from Perth down is just beautiful.

Nice part of the world... I can't remember the last time I saw a kangaroo on any of my journeys to a beach location (grin).

Any chance you have additional images in an online photo album?

Randy

Hi thanks. Erm, no I haven't had time to put up anything else online. BB and rwdvolvos.org are my only ports of call for these pics ;-)

I was shocked to find two of them on the front of BB to be honest. What an honour.

Well, You deserved the BB front page, without the car it was a gorgeous sunset, the car (especially white) and such a nice looking car as yours just made a wonderful image, as I scrolled though the pix, I was wondering where they were taken, until I saw the kangaroo. Have a good summer

They do 'finish' the car nicely. That said I think they were the wrong choice for this particular trip since I think the national park gravel roads would have been better conquered with 14" wheels and lots more rubber!

Not to mention the fact that some would consider exposing Hydra rims to salt air as sacrilegious! Just kidding! Sorry, here in the US Hydras are slightly rare and the ones from the north where they salt the roads look like heck!

Beautiful car, beautiful Country, one of these days, I'll have another opportunity to visit!

ps. Thanks for the gorgeous wall paper pics, the first one simply speaks volumes!
