Heavy duty sewing machine: $200

Used, from Amazon.com

Locally purchased threads, needles, backing material, etc. : $25

It will take some practice but, for less than three hundred dollars you can use your old seat covers as patterns and sew up some new ones. If you don't think you will ever have to do this again, resell the machine to reduce the investment even more.
