serpentine belt configuration 900

There were 2 belt configurations on the B6304 engines and 2 different belts. The 'new' configuration should be the one you have on your 97. The main difference is that the belt goes from the PS pump down around the idler pulley, then up and over the alternator and then straight down to the A/C compressor. If you've got your belt on this way and it's still too log, then they gave you the old configuration belt. Take your old one in with you.
