Volvo 240 steering difficulty 200

Is the u-joint (steering knuckle) tightening up? They often do.

The PS pump will not appear to move a lot of fluid through the reservoir. Don't let that be the deciding factor about a dying PS pump. Of course, it may simply be age or miles affecting it, and you might be right. But I wouldn't replace major components due to perceived fluid flow through the reservoir, before checking the u-joint in the steering column, as that is much more suspect.
