I just re-did mine today after doing it the first time in Dec. I noticed I had a pretty big oil leak in the last 2 months and yesterday I tracked it down to the oil trap. When I installed it in dec I just put the new seals with a bit of seal grease.... Anyways the top seal leaked quite a bit, so today I took everything apart cleaned it all, also sprayed brake parts cleaner on a cloth and then wiped all the surfaces until they were perfectly clean. Then siliconed the seals inside and out and re-installed it all.
Removing the alternator is easier I think, but I've never done it with the intake manifold.. There are only 4 bolts to remove in order to slide the power steering pump and remove alternator.. ohh the alternator has 1 nut on the back for the wire.. The power steering can be attached to the bracket.
Getting to the oil trap is not very hard, as long as you know where the 4 bolts are for the alternator/power steering bracket.
Good luck, its not a fun job, hehe
