Measure volts across the battery with headlights on and someone trying to start the engine with the coil wire removed. If it holds 10 -11 volts while cranking it's probably OK for awhile longer. Or take it to an Autozone for a real load test.

If it's 3 or 4 years old it may be time for a new one anyhow. Is it cranking slow?
