A small tip from someone who's been there. Remove the mudflaps and the brackets they attach to before removing the 7 Acme screws that hold the fender to the inner fender well and the 3 or 4 normal bolts/nuts that hold the fender to the grille surround. If you do things in the reverse order, the fender, with nothing holding it at the top, can slip off and bend itself horribly as you work on the flaps/brackets.
