New 122s - now it's nice and clean! 120-130

My first week of Amazon ownership has mainly focused on making sure the car is road-worthy, and trying to bring some life back to the neglected paint.

It was resprayed at some point in it's history, not that well, with single stage paint (I'd guess 15+ years ago). Everything was pretty oxidized, especially the horizontal surfaces. Luckily I was able to bring some life back to it. This represents about 15-18 hours over the course of a week, all done by hand. It's not perfect, but overall I'm more than satisfied with the transformation!

Process:
Meguiars Gold Class Wash
Meguiars Smooth Surface Clay
Meguiars ScratchX 2.0 (entire car, really cut through the oxidization)
Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish (VERY impressed with this, really added depth)
Meguairs NTX Wax (Also impressed, very easy to apply)

Before

After

That is a neat transformation. It will help psychologically when other, less glamorous jobs rear their heads.

Sweet! Pity we can no longer see any of the pre-pics. They all, including those in your original post, seem to have gone offline. Always good to see a before and after pic in the same post. A good advert for Megs too............
Keep up the good work.

Sorry about the disappearance of the before pics, I deleted that album and blurred the license plates on many of the photos but never updated the links.

Yes it "scrubbed up well" as they say. It looks good all round now so I hope the rest works well. As said, when your car looks nice it does give you incentive to carry on with the work needed. Enjoy.

Fantastic! Got to love single stage paint of the right type for that...

Of course, now you need to get those bumpers re-chromed, etc... :-)

A good job well done.

Great work, I think you just doubled the value if you were to sell it! Looks like a totally different car.

THAT is impressive! Job well done.

I spent about 24hours, in and out, on C.A.'s 122 and cannot even come close. These cars do look good after a little elbow grease.
