Hi Martin,

The arrow goes up. I think the cable would be bent too far and possibly bind if the cam was installed up side down. Not sure about that, but do recall giving it some thought when last I had these apart.

My comment about forward/reverse difference comes from many, many times forgetting to release the parking brake on various Volvos, and not being aware of it until finished backing and putting it into a forward gear. Difference is night and day.
