The book calls for 1.6 quarts. Though, it should be filled at least to the bottom of the fill hole when the car is level.

I have 2 quarts of Redline MTL in mine. Works nice. As Tony said, you'll need to jack up the driver's side to get the full two quarts in. The reason for over filling is because the word on the street is that the fill hole is two low, so the 5th gear eventually wears out. The over fill seem to work.
