140/160 Rust Repair Panels 140-160

As you know from my posts lately and my classified ads, I am repairing/restoring 3 1969-1970 Volvo 144s/145 and lookig for sources of stampel repair sheet metal. Mostly floors and support members, in my cases.

here are some placed I have found thus far. I'll add more if I find any.

Tabco Body Parts, Ohio
http://www.tabcobodyparts.com/html/table_of_contents.htm

(rockers, lower fenders, wheel arches, spare tires wells, floors from pinchweld to about 6" in)

Mill Supply, Inc., Ohio d/b/a/ http://www.rustrepair.com/

(Volvo 65-93 Rockers, floor pans (not sure what yet),spare tire well, and dash cover)

Raybuck Autobody Parts, LLC
http://raybuck.com/c-65823-repair-panels-universal.html

Almost all domestic truck parts, but a few universal parts, like cross members, which might be useful, especially if you can bend and shrink them to contours of floors, etc.)

CVI Automotive Spare Parts for Volvo Classics, Sweden
http://www.streetrodderweb.com/tech/0811sr_rust_repair_panels/index.html

(hood, fenders, battery tray....that's about it!)

SCANDCAR.NL, Netherlands
http://www.scandcar.nl/volvo-news/volvo-140-plaatwerk-onderdelen_en.html

(good body parts illustrations, with part numbers)

Some How-To Resourses:

HOTROD.COM

(This article walks through a body skin patch, circular style)

(Some college guy who made a very good photo-journal of a typical rust repair we might all face -- the dogleg and wheel arch/rocker conjunction)

STREETRODDER.COM

(This online article shows how to deal with pinholes and pockmarks of rust.)

140/160 Rust Repair Panels 140-160 1971

I'm reviving this old thread to add this link:
http://www.klokkerholmusa.com/servlet/the-112/1975-dsh-2001-volvo-240-front/Detail

Does anyone know if these front "240" floor panels will fit the 140 series? What other body panels are interchangeable, and are there any other sources for 140-specific panels?

140s and 240s look mighty similar. Especially from the doors back.

But there were significant changes throughout the series.. '67-70 was similar in ways, '70-73 were similar in ways, '73-74 were similar in ways... more major changes in '75 and '76, and throughout the 240 series.

I really doubt that floor pans for a 240 will work in a '71 140 without modification. Not to say it might not be the closest match, but the same? I really, really doubt it.

You're a 240 guy. Do you still have a 240? If so, pull some carpet in both cars and make some comparisons.

140s are not highly desirable restoration vehicles. Not unique enough to be sought after by all but a few of us. And not worth enough to warrant high cost parts, again.. except for a few folks.

So, low demand+high cost=low availability of some parts. You kinda gotta go with what you can find, and that's often times used bits.

Good thing is, there are used bits out there. Don't be shy in asking here.

A donor car might be your best bet to get properly fit pieces.

Good info!
Do you have anything as far as trim parts?
Things like rubber window squeegees, trunk, hood door rubber seals, lights, etc?
