The relay by the foot wasn't a problem, it was the socket. Anyway, it did not appear in a 240 until 1986. Before that, the problem with no low-beams was more likely to be the switch on the dash. Might be hard to find in self-service salvage yards anymore. You could try RPR for instance, volvo p/n 1215170.
