Tail lamp issue-1991 240 Wagon--Fuse 16 200 1991

Hi Mike,

Even though you see the melting at the tail light, the short that is blowing fuse 16 may be in the rear ash tray light or the shifter. Also, I believe the 85 tail light assembly is not compatible with the 91, so if you leave the 85 one in there you may be further complicating the trouble.

To rule out the interior lights, I believe you can disconnect a gray wire from the back of the fuse panel at 16. You'll know which one blows the fuses by which set of lights remains working when the one that blows the fuse is disconnected.
