Spring compressors ,clam shape or 2 hook type? 200

I have always used the two claw type of spring compressors and only had a problem once... I dropped the compressed spring and the clamps popped off... $200 in body damage to the car. Yes the one that I dropped was a rental and was obviously in a two feet in the grave condition. I went out and bought a set of two claw compressors that I have taken good care of, never had a problem with them.

Sure, it would be nice to have a wall mount clam/clamp type but when you only do a set of struts every few years, it's hard to justify nearly $1000!
