I can tell you on the earlier LH cars, closing off the idle air path should stall the motor. If it does not, there is too much air bypassing the throttle.

I haven't tried plugging this on LH2.4, as I've not had a personal reason to, but the LH2.4 idle valve, if stalled, disabled, or otherwise, is designed to let air through at rest. Wrap your fingers around the IAC valve and be sure you feel it throbbing. The TPS should be checked along with the throttle stop screw.
