One of the drawbacks to flushing a badly sludged motor with a solvent is the risk of having a hard deposit break off and find its way into an oil passage resulting in bearing failure. If your motor is a high mileage, badly sludged unit, my advice would be to start saving for a younger replacement while it is still running.
