Why are you "redoing" the valves? Bad compression?
A good shop can process a cylinder head in a day or two. There is not a lot you can do to the head yorself. They can inspect, dismantle, and start cleaning it in minutes. Better to leave it to the the machine shop. They would not want to work on head that someone else has fiddled with.

You would have your time and the expense of gaskets to temporarily install a head. Better yet take the "pull a part" head to the machine shop then install on the car just once.
