New 244 prospect... 200

Sounds like a good opportunity for a 92 245...
It'll have the best engine design, the newest paint, etc....

As for the knocking, determine if it's really knocking or not. You can check for rod knock with a wooden dowel inserted through the spark plug hole. If the piston can be moved around, the rod bearings are worn.

The knocking can be lots of things, including a car in need of a basic tune-up.

The window is a $15 pull-a-part item, and there are lots of oil leaks... the question is where is the leak.

Tags are good, but make sure it still passes smog, and you can make sure the tags are ...legitimate through some DMV websites.

The gem of automobile advice I've come up with in my few years of buying vehicles and helping friends pick some is to NEVER buy a car the first time you see it. You'll always have a less biased opinion of it the second time you check it over.

Good Luck - and if you do acquire it, we'll all want pictures ;)
