240 Factory Security System Installed but unplugged and no remotes, ideas please on how to make it work! 200 1992

Hi Guys (and Gals too),

I have a 1992 Volvo 244. I bought it about 3 months ago.

It came with factory / genuine Volvo security system installed. The unit seems to be in tact, but unplugged in the engine bay.

The car didn't come supplied with the alarm key, security code or even remotes. Even then I got 1 key and it's not an original. I am the 4th owner of the car.

Seeing my car lives outside I was wondering what chances there on getting it running and if there was any literature around on it. I found replacement remotes on eBay already, but no point getting them if I can't get everything going on it.

Thanks in advance!

Check out this site: http://www.240.se/install/
It's in Swedish and you'll have to scroll down. Look for "Volvo Stöldlarm" - these are Volvo's OEM installation instructions for the different alarm versions. Not sure if there are wiring diagrams, but certainly you will see step by step instructions on how to install the alarms.
Hope this is helpful.

well, try this sight: http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=EN

It will translate Swedish to English-you will have to copy-paste back and forth. (Didnt say it would be easy). Good luck.

Hey paul,

My only advice, other than asking dealer service shop, is to check out a website like these two.
www.the12volt.com

and

www.thehoffmangroup.com.

You may find answers to how the system is wired and what aftermarket parts will mate to it.

Best of success.

Brandon
