Hope you're well. There is an ignition module, a small computer with a black plastic case. It lives under the dashboard. These units rarely fail.

The ignition power stage is affixed to the inner fender wall, on the driver's side of the car (North American models). This item has a flat gray cap, an aluminum base, and a single electrical connector. It is secured to the fender wall by two screws.

Ignition power states do fail. If the unit in your 1994 car is the factory-original unit, failure would not be surprising, especially if the car has spent its entire life in areas with high average ambient temperatures.
