Tomorrow, I start the engine swap (and hopefully finish it) 700 1990

I would not be in a hurry to install the used engine. It will never be easier to freshen it up than before it is installed.

I would consider rear main seal, tensioner, front seals and timing belt. Any signs of exhaust manifold gasket leakage? Clean out the oil separator. Intake manifold gasket?

If you are removing the engine alone you need to remove the two 18mm head bolts that hold the starter in place and the trans and engine together. There are four or five others the same size as well. The flex plate is held to the converter with four bolts and should be disconnected before pulling the engine.

Good luck,
Randy
