If you don't have a vice, installing new u-joints in the yokes is probably not a DIY job.

U joints can be taken apart with a hammer. Driving them back together will not work (the needles fly out of the cup). It might be possible to put them back together with a big C clamp, but often it is moderately difficult with a 6" vice.
