Proper flush 200 1989

The heater core retains significant (maybe a quart?) of coolant too.

I would use the block drain because it's much cleaner than using the lower rad hose, then open the lower rad hose. It's a much more convenient, elegant way to do it.

Good Luck! While you've got the coolant out, a thermostat wouldn't hurt if it's been 2+ years since it was replaced.
