The guys at Tasca are very rude and brash and I will not be doing business with them.

That's too bad. We all think Tasca provides the deepest discount, but I've never asked them for repair instruction or consultation. Maybe you can start over at your local Volvo dealership's parts counter? Usually the markup they have merits a little help with part numbers, etc.

The theory is the line is a critical safety item. Few of us want to try to tell you how to circumvent the system because we don't know your skill level. It is sold as an assembly because Volvo feels the same way.
