Interesting... OD engaged and worked normally with trans cold 200 1984

Had the same issue with my old '86 with an M46. I switched the fluid to Redline MTL and it worked flawlessly for 2.5 years until I got rid of the car.

The issue is that when the internal seals start to go, when the fluid is cold (at its thickest), the OD will work fine. When the fluid thins as it warms, the OD will kick off. Redline is a good first step--it may keep you from the repair for a number of years. There may be other synthetic fluids that work as well as Redline, I'm not sure.

Hope this helps a bit anyways.

Nate
