I replaced the factory radio in my daughters cars with a newer stereo.
Both of cars are 945s. My daughters really like the USB port in the new
head so they can play an Ipod through the stereo.
However, both cars now have a problem that I cannot seem to fix. There is
no AM reception. Most people describe noisy AM reception because of
some type of interference, but I have found no information on the utter lack
of any reception. Not just a few AM stations but all of them.
I created the wiring harness to bypass the amplifier according to the
stereo maker's instructions, but I used the original antenna. I checked
the owners manual, and other web sources, but I cannot find information
about my antenna in both cars.
I do not have any visible antenna in the car like I have for my 245s.
One Volvo technician mentioned I had the antenna in the rear windows.
There is wiring in them, but I had always assumed it was a defroster.
Does anyone have any idea how to test this antenna for reception.
AM reception in both cars worked with the original factory stereo
systems.
By the way a note to the FAQ maintenance, for at least the past year
in the 700/900 FAQ, under the button marked

selecting
