1991 turbo engine B230FT 700 1991

Eh... maybe. What state? Is rust a problem?

89 (or 88?) and later B230FT engines have the 13mm rods and the re-relocated main bearings and bigger main bearings. The 7/92 and later engines B230FT (has to be T) have piston oil-squirters.

Open the oil cap. Check for white milkshake. Check the coolant for the same. Smell the coolant. It should smell like coolant, not like exhaust.
Open the oil cap (again). Wipe the oil off the front lobe of the camshaft and crank the engine. If the engine cranks, but the camshaft doesn't turn, the timing belt is broken. No big deal, just a timing belt replacement and timing job. The B230ft is not an interference engine.

Remove and Check all the fuses. Check for spark. Check for fuel pump operation by bypassing the fuel pump relay.
There are some pretty simple diagnostics in the FAQ. Take your own fully charged battery to test the car.

Good Luck. When you're calculating how much you'll save, factor in how much time, hassle, and money it will take to replace the cherry-picked parts. The end of the intercooler to manifold tube ends in a rubber boot, the throttle body, throttle/cruise control/kickdown spools, Throttle position sensor, throttle linkage.... There might be a lot missing. But even if it's missing all of that, it may only be $100 at a local junkyard.

Enjoy!
