I can see why you think this is strange. Your switch burns up, you get a new one put in, and it burns up just the same.

Without actually seeing, I can think of three possibilities. One, there's a direct short to ground somewhere in the unfused portion of ignition-switched wiring (coil circuit is just one example) or two, there's a fault in the terminal on the connector that goes on the back of the switch as a result of the original overheating trouble. The third possibility is the replacement switch isn't of the same quality as the original, but that seems to be the most remote of the three.

Has the engine harness been replaced yet? You know they were all bad, right?

A trip back to your repairer is in order, of course, but it always helps to be able to contribute a couple ideas or three.
