The oil sender wire and the alternator feed wire run under the front crank oil seal. It's a bad place for wires. I snip the red and black wires at the firewall connector, just above cylinder #4, and run those two along the passenger fender wall and then over to the sender and ALT. Red goes to the ALT, while the black goes to the sender that's next-to the filter. I reroute those wires on every 240 I service.
