Sorry. What seems to happen a lot is that white/red wire finds its way to the dual male terminal (where the yellow cruise wire went) and fries the circuit. You need a new gauge now, or circuit board, or chip -- depending on your appetite for component level repair. If you don't have a tach, don't connect that white/red wire.
Look for a gauge with the same "K" number on the front; for yours K9800 I believe. If you decide to replace the whole cluster, be aware they are different year to year, and not all plug and play.
