Heh- I didn't know I was in the goat pen!

Believe me, I did my homework. Here's how the lowest price isn't always the best buy:

First, aftermarket hose was off the table after reading some posts here and elsewhere to steer clear of them (so to speak). I don't want to do this job again and I expect to have my car at least 3-4 years more. The difference is insurance for me, and I can afford it.

So now it's OEM comparisons. I did see Tasca at $58 in my search *but* add $10 for shipping = $68 (maybe more because I don't know the size or weight). Plus Tasca is in Rhode Island, east coast and I'm in Portland, west coast, it's going to take at least 5, likely 7 shipping days to get to me via ground service. Since I haven't ordered from them before, I don't know how soon they ship out; I do know they have a good reputation.

There's also the US Auto Parts web site and it's subsidiaries that sell the OEM hose for $71.95 with shipping (use part no W0133-1610579). I haven't ordered from them either, and they are very huge impersonal sellers; likely ship time was short as based in California, .

Autohaus is $74 but shipping is free (they say I "saved" $11.50 in shipping). I've ordered from them before and they were quick for my location. I ordered Monday morning, part arrived Tuesday evening (shipped from Washington via UPS ground; weighed 2 lbs.). So yeah it was $6 more than Tasca but it was worth it in my situation.
