I agree with Dan. The throttle body (inside) builds up a layer of oil & grime after time that keeps the throttle plate & sensor from fully closing at idle. A very thin buildup is all it takes to cause problems. If you slowly operate the throttle by hand you should hear a click of the TPS as the throttle moves out of the idle position. If you've never cleaned it then it is definitely due for maintenance. I clean mine about every 15-20 thousand miles. Check the FAQs above for the procedure. Also make sure the air supply duct between the AMM and throttle body is free from ANY splits or holes and the clamps are really tight. Hope this helps! Maybe someone can think of something else it could be.
