Dear jwalker,

Hope you're well. I'm no bleeding expert, but think it unwise to empty the master cylinder's fluid reservoir. Rather, as fluid bleeds out, fresh fluid should be added and the cap instantly put back.

If the reservoir's level drops too far, air enters the system, undoing the benefits of bleeding the system.
