Fuse #6 Blowing - 240 200 1993

Having trouble with fuse #6 blowing. This might be a dumb question...are fuse #4 and #6 connected? I mean does current flow from #4 to #6 or vice versus? Maybe this is linked to a grungy O2 sensor connection.

Is #6 connected connected to the battery by the 3 small red wires at the positive connection?

I have not checked the relay yet which could be faulty.

Thanks,

Loose Moose

Would you happen to be a Loose Moose, as a Phil Bolger sharpie design?

That's the bell it rings with me... and would like to hear about any other angle on Loose Moose, since building one was a too big part of my life, here in Minneapolis.

Oh, yeah, and whatever Art Benstein says is the good stuff. ;-)

Fuse #6 Blowing - 240 200 1993

Fuse 4 is definitely on the load side of fuse 6. But fuse 4 should be an 8A and I think fuse 6 a 16A, so a funky oxygen sensor heater shorting out would be expected to take out 4 before 6.

Is the fuse blowing? That means, does it part in the middle with burn marks around the open section? Or is it melting because of overheated contacts. If the latter, try cleaning the fuse holder and tightening the spade connectors on the wiring to it.

I don't know of any common causes of that fuse blowing, but have heard someone report frayed wiring at the main fuel pump terminals. Also, I can't imagine a fault in the relay that would blow the fuse.

Here's a link to a wiring diagram showing how 4 and 6 get wired:
