I was told that the scammer works at Starbucks-don't know if it is actually IN San Jose.
The 544 in my profile took me 5 yrs to build. I sold it at a car auction in 2006 in Tulsa for $20K, and I wish I had it back. I'm building another 64 at present and started it 2 years ago. The engine and running gear is complete, body work is done and it is painted Hotrod Satin Black. I have about 6K invested in parts and material not counting my labor. Hope I live long enough to complete it.

My point was that some of these 'scammers' are very good at their trade. This all started in Jan of 2004. They advertised on E-Bay, and I was 1 of at least 20 that took the bait. Their offer was 2400 down and 5600 upon delivery of a totally restored 544 with a rebuilt B1800 engine. I corresponded with them at least 2 weeks-asking questions and getting good answers, and I became convinced they were legit and wired the down payment. The car (which they would furnish) would be delivered within 6 months by truck to my address with all the colors, fabrics, and engine mods that I requested. They sent 'before' pictures of "my car" gave me progress reports (such as just taken to the sand blast shop), etc, etc. There were several people involved in the scam, and of course it was all a carefully planned set-up. Lauricella is not in jail, works in a Coffee shop, and the money he pays is divided between the victims. The county will not send out checks for less than $5, so it takes some time for them to get enough to divide up. Yes, I have received and average of $66 per year since his conviction.
