it happened to me too. trans bolt stripped 200

Good Point!
However, after much pontificating, I bought a new 10mm1.5 blot from Nappa and the guy helping me, found me a crush washer which I added to the flat washer on top.

I then bought two types of JB Weld, but I too am cautious to use it unless it comes to that. I decided to use a 10mm 1.5 pitch tap and slowly clean out the pan threads. I know it may not be a great idea but I slowly ran it in and carefully retracted it about each full turn so that I could recover as much of the cuts as possible. After getting all the way in I took the advise of another brickster, and ran a full quart down the dip tube and let it run out, flushing as much of anything left.

My new 10mm bolt fit perfect and threaded all the way tightening as it bottomed out. I removed it and added the washers and re-threaded into the pan. I did not apply a lot of tightening force but just enough so the crush washer flattened out above the regular flat washer. All is good and after refilling the trans. I have no drips..
