87 engine in 90 body 700

Well; let's see what we can figure out.
I believe the crossmember in the 16v car has a welded piece for a different motor mount, and either this has to be cut away which has been done and I can refer you, apparently not too big a deal, or the crossmember replaced.
The two motors are both SOHC redblocks, so they will both fit after that mod.
The accessories like the pump may require moving/substituting, not a big deal.

The 90/16v is Bosch lh2.4 and both the others are Bosch lh2.2.
Can this be done? Yes, it's subbing parts really except for the crank sensor/Hall sensor. Lh2.4 is the better system and IMO you should make the motor parts fit the car electrics rather than the other way. This way the harness fits also.
So, injectors And resistors, Idle air, TPS, fuel inj temp sensor, and figure out how to match the CPS. I think you'd need to use the later flex plate and figure out how to mount the CPS. This may be simple but I do not know. More info is to be had on Turbobricks as these swaps are more common there.

I think both motors are 'small rod' models, so no severely beating on them, but I think the low miles one may be the better choice. Do you know anything of the history/care of either?
