When she ran out of gas, did anyone 'help' her? Maybe popped the hood and messed with Ignition wires and didn't seat them down far enough?
If it's a coincidence and not Gas related, I'd say to reseat the AMM connector.
Many people have issues with dirty oxidized connectors.. I have a issue where one pin is broken where it does not Pinch the AMM connector corrcetly. Every few years I get a stumble at idle. and I have to play with that one pin to get better tension to the AMM.
