3M door trim tape / How Can It Be Removed? 200 1986

Had the car painted a couple of years ago and had it removed then. I've just removed both my side mirrors and switched over to the chromed version that attach to the same place the old ones did from a mid '70's style. The paint job did get under the original mirror, so instead of repainting the top of the door, I just want to replace the tape that was removed. My car's color is dark grey metallic, so the tape won't jump out there at you as it would if it were a lighter color paint.
