ANSWER B20 Oil passages 140-160

Hello,

It would have been better if the oil galley plugs been removed.

But even if the plugs had been removed, it is critical that the block and cylinder head get THOROUGHLY washed after it has been to the machine shop, even if was hot tanked.

We use Dawn dish washing detergent and hot water.

Usually the washing process performed at the machine shop occurs BEFORE they start to machine the block.

When we get a freshly machined block back from the machine shop we use, it always comes covered in honing oil along with all the metal particles from machining.

You will need a proper engine brush kit.

When I searched for "engine brush" at www.SummitRacing.com, I got 7 hits.

We also wash rebuilt complete assembled cylinder heads the same way when we get them done at our local machine shop.
