Need help on rear axle ratios 200 1984

1. Your son should have a feel for how fast he is going regardless of what the speedo says.
If he doesn't, he at least needs to watch the traffic and not drive a lot faster than the rest.
2. Whoever installed the gears needs to tell you what gears he put in. Most of them are stamped ON the gears and in any case he could count the teeth on them. To install a diff when you don't even know what it is is pretty irresponsible.

I realize that this is not much help but maybe will help prevent a future occurrence.
