Folks say you should consider the radiator a "wear item" like your brake pads. You can spring for an all-metal unit, but these are a bit harder to find and are not recommended on some engines.

Thermostat.. not sure there. Check the FAQ, I think there's a chart. I can never keep it straight. The variance is mainly for your engine type. Turbo vs non-turbo.
