1993 245 Classic engine maintenance 200 1993

Hi Sam,

I would:

1. Check/clean the flame trap
2. Clean or change oil separator-don't forget to get a new o ring
3. Make sure all your flame trap lines are in good shape
4. Check your front seals-are they leaking? If not I would wait until a timing belt change.
5. While your cleaning/removing oil separator I would also clean IAC valve, AMM, throttle body, good time to check the large intake hose for cracks also.
6. Change oil filler cap gasket, oil dipstick o ring, valve cover gasket, check with mirror that your rear cam plug isn't leaking and while you're in that area make or buy the rear cam plug retainer plate.
7. And last I would stick with regular dino oil and change it every 5,000 with a new Mann filter
8. As far a additives go I would put Techron in the gas tank every so often and maybe 1/2 bottle of Gunk cleaner (right before oil change only-no driving) and 1/2 bottle down through flame trap, oil separator every other oil change.

Aside from the basics of checking/changing spark plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor, air filter, fuses I wouldn't do anything drastic, save your money or stock up on "back up" items-AMM, ECU, starter, alternator, alternator voltage regulator, O2 sensor, etc.

Good luck and congrats,

Travis
