There is a mount on the back of the radio that is difficult to see or remove. It pushes into a metal piece mounted onto the firewall and has a barbed section that keeps you from just pulling it out. You will need to flatten the barb or remove the screw that holds it onto the radio. Take out the glove compartment and have a look.
