tacho-what have i done 1800 1967

I fitted the crane electrical ignition to my car and as per the instructions took a loop out of the pulse sensing wire. The tach appeared to read high so i ( remembering Phil S saying that he had found the removal of the loop unneccessary and that i may need to put it back )put the loop back in and now the tach does not work at all. Heres the thing: could i have put the loop back in with the current going the wrong direction ( clockwise at the moment-i had marked the wire with an arrow ), and of course cant remember what it was when i took it off- duh. Next time i will take a photo. Which way does the current flow? from coil thru tach or the other way round and can i test without cutting the the black covering. Does it matter ? May revert to 1 loop to see if i have screwed up. Any thoughts appreciated. Regards David

Thanks Eric, that made all the difference. Thanks Phil S, the tach seems more inline with what the engine is doing and will check later when i can.

Hello,

Try using a pair of jumper wires to temporarily reverse your connections at the distributor and at the ignition coil.
