1988 ECU Diagnosis 200

Sometimes visual inspection doesn't serve to verify electrical connections.

For your 88 (or any LH-jet 240 83-93*) you can verify the red lead FI circuit, whether it is fused under the hood or in the panel, by taking the AMM connector and slipping its boot back. Probe the orange lead. With the key on (KP-II), this orange lead will only have battery voltage on it if the fuse and red lead are in good shape. The load of the AMM and FI circuitry ensures this.





*I've heard rumor this lead is red/black on late production '93 harnesses...
