My wife's 1993 Volvo 240 runs fine. Over the past several months however, periodically, the engine would not crank at all when trying to start while all the dashboard lights came on. Typicaly, this would happen only after the car was very hot. After a ten minute wait, the car would easily crank and start. After this happened a few times, I tapped on the starter solenoid which seemed to alleviate the problem. It appeared to be a stuck solenoid which would seem to jam after heat up... As such, we just had a newly rebuilt Bosch starter motor and solenoid installed and thaought that the problem was finally resolved... However, only one day after the new starter and solenoid was installed, the same problem occurred only this time, the engine was cold. I installed a new ignition switch about 4.5 years ago although it may be the ignition switch this time. If anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate hearing them.
Mant thanks!!!
