1987 Volvo 240 Taillights Problem 200

I had many years of problems with my'87's rear lights. My final solution seems to be permanent, but you may not like it: Buy regular metal sockets for each bulb. Make sure you buy the sockets with a ground tab on them and buy the double conductor ones for the brake/tail light combination bulbs.
Remove that stupid plastic circuit board that wears out, melts, or otherwise causes havoc and may get you rear ended some day.
Splice the new sockets into the correct harness wires and insert the sockets into the plastic housing. I did that with only one side of my '87 because I had a brand new factory tail light in the other side. BUT I have already purchased the metal bulb sockets to get ready for the first time I have a problem.
