ANSWER tune up parts... a question I never thought to ask 120-130

My opinion...

Nah... you're doing it right. Parts based on distributor, plugs and wires to your preference. As long is it runs well when done.

What I've always done: Just remove the distributor. Makes it a lot easier to get the points set just right, and make sure the phenolic thing around the wire is properly seated, and also be able to inspect the distributor properly, the advance mechanism, etc. And while you have it out, properly lubricate.. the oil cup on the side and the felt under the rotor.

Of course, it's not necessary to pull it. I just find it easier to do that stuff with the distributor sitting on the kitchen table...
